  • Blue October Announces Fall 2025 We Didn’t Die Young Tour

Austin, TX – Blue October will hit the road this fall for their We Didn’t Die Young Tour , bringing a brand-new show to cities across the U.S., including Denver, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, Salt Lake City, and Milwaukee. The tour includes stops at iconic venues like The Fillmore, The Rave, and Mission Ballroom. This run follows the band’s upcoming Argue With A Tree 2025 summer tour through Texas, where they’ll revisit the raw beginnings of their career. But the fall tour moves forward—with a different show, a different tone, and something fans haven’t seen yet. Fueling the momentum is " HOT STUFF ," Blue October’s latest single—a sly, swaggering detour that throws a curveball in all the right ways. It’s catchy, a little unhinged, and fully intentional. Meanwhile, the band is deep in the studio working on their 13th album, due in 2026. While they’re not giving much away, fans can expect a record that stretches the edges while still delivering the kind of unfiltered storytelling Blue October is known for. No formulas. No autopilot. Just raw emotion. Tickets for the We Didn’t Die Young Tour are on sale to the general public this Friday, May 23rd at 10am local time:

  • Icarus Bell Joins Blue October's Summer Tour!

Blue October is excited to announce the addition of Icarus Bell as main support on the upcoming 2025 Argue With A Tree Tour . Austin-based Icarus Bell blends aspects of hard rock, pop, and even elements of progressive rock in their sound. Stylistically, they harken back to hard rock acts from the ’90s but also bring modern sensibilities to the writing and production that keep things fresh and interesting. Adams adds, "We love bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Smashing Pumpkins , but when we write, we like to bring in a lot of ambience and electronic elements." Supporting their debut full-length album, The Great Collapse , Icarus Bell will join Blue October on the majority of the summer tour, beginning in Abilene, Texas, on June 4th and wrapping up their support duties on June 22nd in Hidalgo, Texas.  Get your tickets now before they sell out, and get to the shows early to soak in a rare appearance from Icarus Bell.

  • How “HOT STUFF” Came to Life: Inside the Studio with Blue October

Blue October has always known who they are. Sure, the sound evolves from album to album—but at the core, it’s still the same band that plays from the gut and lets instinct lead the way. Their new single, "HOT STUFF," is a great example of that. It’s loud, confident, and catchy as hell—and it all started with a riff. Recorded in March 2025, "HOT STUFF" came together during one of those rare moments when every member of the band was in the same room, feeding off each other’s ideas and energy. “The song feels really special to me because it came from us being in a room together,” says bassist Matt Novesky . “Just humans playing our instruments and feeling the energy of playing in a band.” Bassist Matt Novesky in the tracking room laying down his parts for "HOT STUFF" Guitarist Steve Schiltz   kicked things off with a riff that pulled from some major ’80s influences—think INXS and Robert Palmer , but with more dirt under the fingernails “Nearly everything you hear on the recording is us playing in the studio together,” Steve says. “That energy is what gives the song its punch.” A behind-the-scenes look at Steve Schiltz’ guitars and effects while recording "HOT STUFF" Matt’s bass-lines brought in a low-end groove that feels both raw and melodic, with a vibe somewhere between   John Entwistle (The Who) and Chris Wolstenholme (Muse) . Then Ryan Delahoussaye layered in parts that subtly nod to Blue October’s early years. “A lot of my parts harken back to songs like Amnesia and Sexual Power Trip ,” Ryan says. “It felt natural to bring in some of those textures from the early days.” The end result is a song that wears a lot of different influences - there are hints of   Prince , Franz Ferdinand , Nine Inch Nails , and even a little ZZ Top  swagger - but still sounds unmistakably like Blue October. Layered on top are echoes of Prince , Franz Ferdinand , Nine Inch Nails , and even a little ZZ Top  swagger—all woven into a song that somehow sounds both vintage and refreshingly new. Drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld and Producer Eric Holtz overseeing the mixing of "HOT STUFF" Frontman Justin Furstenfeld , usually at the center of the band’s songwriting, took more of a supporting role this time and let the rest of the band drive the vibe. “I have to give credit to Steve and Matt for the vibe of 'HOT STUFF,'” Justin says. “This is the first time where I really stepped back and collaborated with them from a production standpoint. The band really stepped up and said, ’This is what we’re good at!’” There’s something about hearing a band lock in like that—when the chemistry is real and everyone’s firing on instinct. "HOT STUFF" isn’t a reinvention. It’s a reminder of what makes Blue October tick. Listen to "Hot Stuff" here

  • Pre-Save Spinning The Truth Around

Let's talk "Pre-Save"and "Pre-Add" . Years ago we'd work towards pre-selling as many CDs as possible leading up to the release date of an album. That would help Blue October chart as high as possible on the Billboard charts and ultimately "the industry" would see it and open opportunities for the band. That's all very different now. With the streaming era, it's all about Pre-Saves (though physical pre-sales also matter). The band have a goal to hit 20,000 Pre-Saves of the new album Spinning The Truth Around (Part I) before the release date on October 14th. Pre-Saving the album on Spotify, Apple Music or other streaming platforms helps the band with two things. First, it affects the initial "algorithm" the streaming platforms use to spread music they sense as popular. Second, it helps with curated play-listing on the platforms. The more pre-saves, the more and bigger playlists the band is likely to get, helping spread the music. Social media and streaming platform algorithms are hard to fight. You all are our Blue Family so you care, you interact and you see all Blue October "news". There are many people who love Blue October or who would love Blue October, but they don't know we're still around or do not know we release new music every couple years because algorithms suppress the band. Please help us break through these algorithms. If you have a streaming account, go pre-save the album now. If you still listen to CDs, go pre-order the new album now. You can do this easily using the link below. Please share and encourage others to pre-save and pre-order. It helps way more than you could know. • Justin Furstenfeld’s An Open Book: I Laugh At Myself – A One-Man Show Like No Other

For years, An Open Book has given fans an intimate look into the mind and music of Justin Furstenfeld. But this time, it’s different. This time, it’s not just about sobriety. It’s not just about the past. It’s about what comes next. This spring, Justin Furstenfeld takes the stage once again with An Open Book: I Laugh At Myself —a raw, unfiltered, and deeply personal one-man show that will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you see life in a whole new way. More Than Just a Concert—A One-Man Play with Songs At its core, I Laugh At Myself is an acoustic solo show—but it’s so much more than that. This isn’t just a setlist of stripped-down Blue October songs. This is storytelling at its finest. Justin takes the audience on a journey through the songs that mean the most to him—the ones that are too delicate, too vulnerable, too deeply personal to fit into a full-band rock show. But it’s not just the music. This show is about the stories behind the songs—the moments in life that shaped them. It’s comedy. It’s tragedy. It’s life, in all its messy, beautiful, heartbreaking, and hilarious moments. A Night of Music, Laughter, and Reflection If you’ve ever seen Justin Furstenfeld perform, you know he doesn’t hold back. I Laugh At Myself is no different. Expect to hear stories that will have you doubled over laughing one moment and wiping away tears the next. Expect moments of brutal honesty, unexpected humor, and raw emotion. Expect to leave feeling something. Most of all, expect a show that stays with you long after you walk out of the theater. An Intimate Setting, A Personal Connection One of the most special parts of I Laugh At Myself is the atmosphere. These aren’t massive arenas or rock clubs—these are beautiful, old-time theaters where every seat feels like the front row. The setting itself invites a kind of closeness you don’t get at a typical concert. And in true Justin fashion, he’ll be there after the show, by the front door, ready to shake your hand. Because for him, this isn’t just about performing—it’s about connection. Don’t Miss It If you think you know An Open Book , think again. I Laugh At Myself isn’t just another show—it’s a new chapter, a new experience, and a new way of looking at life. Come laugh, come cry, come be a part of something real. Tour kicks off at the end of March—don’t miss it.
