SOUNDCHECK EXPERIENCE PROCESS & FAQS What is the Soundcheck Experience process? *Start times below are an example and may be different for some shows When you arrive at the venue there will be a separate line outside doors only for Soundcheck Experience attendees. Please line up here. Around * 4:30pm a Blue October team member will come out and start checking everyone in. At * 5:00pm, you will be escorted into the venue. Blue October will come on stage, soundcheck a song or two, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. Next you will line up and take a photo side-by-side with the band using your phone. After your photo is taken, you will be handed an autographed poster. At this time, you will head back out of the venue until doors open for the show. Before you exit, you will have the opportunity to stop at the merch booth if you would like to. Is a show ticket included in my Soundcheck Experience purchase? No, a show ticket is not included with your Soundcheck Experience. Please purchase your show tickets separately here . You must have a show ticket in order to attend the Soundcheck Experience. What time does the Soundcheck Experience start? For the Soundcheck Experience start time, please check your event page on ShopBlueOctober.com . Most Soundcheck Experiences start at 5:00pm. However, there are instances where the start time is different due to that day’s schedule. What time should I arrive? Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your Soundcheck Experience. If your Soundcheck Experience starts at 5:00pm, we recommend arriving between 4:15-4:30pm. Please do not be late. We cannot hold the start of the Soundcheck Experience. What do I need for proof of purchase? All you will need is an ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.). Our team will have a list of names and will check you and your party in. If I attend the Soundcheck Experience, can I get first entry when doors for the show open? Yes! BUT you must be back in the Soundcheck Experience line when doors open. Once the general line starts entering you are not able to skip the line and will need to go to the back of the general line. Can I bring something from home for the band to sign? No. We ask that you please refrain from bringing items for the band to sign. If everyone brought something personal to have signed there would be no time to complete it for everyone. How will I get my photo with the band? WATCH NOW Life was full of opportunity and every dream of being a writer, performer, and musician was being fulfilled. We had lost our major record label deal with Universal Records after only selling 15,000 units, but we had been picked back up by two amazing men who owned a record label called Rainmaker Records. Both Swin Swinford and Paul Nugent stumbled upon myself and my father at a South by Southwest lunch where I handed over a demo EP that my father and I had invested in together. After listening, these two gentlemen immediately got us in the studio to record what is now known as “History For Sale”, one of our most colorful and eclectic albums ever made. To take it a step further, Swin and Paul had the idea of capturing our live performance on film and making it into an album. All three of us sat and discussed putting on a concert where we could do all of our favorite tracks from all three of our existing albums live and release it as a double album and live film. They were very cutting-edge and believed if we could capture the magic of our live connection with the audience that we could showcase an intimacy that was unheard of at the time. So I hand-picked my favorite and most powerful songs that we had released and put on the longest most passionate show we had ever done complete with all three albums plus sneak peeks into new songs that would end up making it onto our multi-platinum album the following year. Life was magical and there were no rules whatsoever during this time in our lives. The only thing we were on earth to do was to show thanks to everyone who had supported us through our failure to become famous during our “big chance.” Little did any of us know that things were just getting started for us. That we would soon pave our own way through this business called music and proving everyone wrong at the label that dropped us. Then living on to create our own destiny by dropping them to start our own. We were so bright eyed and full of young angst, so heartbroken and in love with life, so driven and passionate about proving ourselves not only to our fans, but to the entire world.
